Position Overview:
We are seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the Nova organization. Our vision is to establish Nova as the industry’s most trusted intelligence layer, delivering best-in-class agentic experiences that enable marketers to shift from manual execution to autonomous, results-driven innovation.
Nova has a dual mandate. The team builds and operates core AI-driven systems, and also enables other engineering teams across the company to develop and ship AI-based features quickly and responsibly. This includes establishing shared foundations, defining architectural patterns, and setting technical standards for applied AI development.
This leader will oversee a multidisciplinary organization spanning application development, machine learning engineering, and data science, partnering closely with Product and cross-functional engineering leaders to translate vision into durable, production-grade systems. Also, ensuring every AI-driven action is grounded in high-fidelity context and verifiable customer outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Nova engineering organization across AI application development ML systems
- Set technical direction for AI-powered product capabilities and shared AI infrastructure
- Drive end-to-end delivery from research and experimentation through productionization and scale
- Establish reusable platforms, patterns, and foundations that enable other product teams to build AI features efficiently
- Partner with engineering leaders across the company to support adoption of AI capabilities
- Ensure high standards for system design, reliability, cost discipline, and operational excellence
- Collaborate closely with Product to shape roadmap, evaluate feasibility, and sequence investments
- Balance innovation with platform stability and long-term maintainability
- Hire, manage, and develop Engineering Managers and senior ICs
- Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and technical rigor
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of engineering experience, including significant experience leading managers and scaling multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven track record of building and operating production AI/ML systems at scale with a focus on Enterprise-Grade reliability.
- Experience building and operating production AI / ML systems at scale
- Deep understanding of Context Engineering, including RAG, retrieval-ranking, and evaluation frameworks for grounding AI agents in high-fidelity data.
- Experience defining technical strategy across multiple teams
- Experience translating emerging AI capabilities into practical, customer-facing agentic workflows that drive measurable business outcomes (Lift/ROI).
- Ability to navigate ambiguity with a Bias for Action, making crisp decisions to keep the product roadmap fluid in a fast-moving AI landscape and drive alignment across engineering, product, and data
- Experience operating in a multi-team SaaS environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders

- Experience building and productionizing LLM based, agentic or autonomous systems that handle complex orchestration and evaluation.
- Experience establishing shared AI platforms or internal developer enablement capabilities
- Familiarity with analytics systems, experimentation workflows, or decisioning frameworks

The US base salary range for this position at the start of employment is $204,000 - $319,000. Within this range, individual pay is determined by specific US work location, as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and internal equity considerations.
Please note that the range listed above reflects only base salary. The total compensation package includes variable pay (where applicable), equity, plus a range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and financial. In addition, we offer perks such as generous stipends for health & fitness and learning & development, among others.
