About This Job

The AVP, Marketing Data Architecture & Governance owns how Marketing and customer data is modeled, governed, and trusted on the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. The role designs and implements the Marketing data model and semantic layer that reporting, self-service analytics, and activation into Salesforce depend on, and sets and enforces the standards, quality thresholds, lineage, and privacy controls that keep that data fit for use in a regulated environment. It partners with Enterprise Data on the Customer Identity Hub and enterprise ontology, and with Marketing, MarTech, RevOps, and Sales to balance speed and control.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and own the Marketing data architecture on Databricks: conceptual, logical, and physical models for customers, prospects, accounts, campaigns, journeys, channels, funnel stages, and marketing cost, following medallion and dimensional-modeling patterns in Unity Catalog
  • Define the semantic layer: conformed dimensions, business-defined measures, and certified metric views that serve Tableau, Databricks Genie, and data science from one set of definitions
  • Model the business-contextual Customer 360 for Marketing in partnership with Enterprise Data, including identity-resolution rules, customer attributes for segmentation and targeting, and integration design with the CDP (Data Cloud) and Salesforce
  • Lead implementation with Data Engineering: translate models into build specifications, review designs and code for conformance, and manage schema change through the Platform team's CI/CD and production-promotion process
  • Contribute Marketing's domain model to the enterprise ontology and data catalog so Marketing context is consistent with the bank's
  • Define and enforce marketing data standards, definitions, critical data elements, and source-of-truth decisions; own the metric dictionary
  • Own governed data release criteria and quality thresholds for activation into Salesforce and execution platforms
  • Monitor and remediate data quality issues including duplication, completeness, latency, and routing; operate the data quality scorecard
  • Ensure compliance, auditability, lineage, consent, and alignment with regulatory and privacy requirements across marketing data flows; approve new data sources, vendor data, and AI-assisted data use with Compliance and Information Security
  • Partner with Marketing, MarTech, Enterprise Data, RevOps, and Sales to balance speed and control
  • Scale architecture and governance through offshore support, automation, and AI-driven quality monitoring

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
  • 7+ years of experience across data architecture, data modeling, data governance, data quality, or enterprise data management, including hands-on ownership of production data models
  • Strong data modeling experience in financial services and in the marketing domain: customer, account, product, and transaction models for banking or lending, and campaign, journey, lead, funnel, and attribution models for marketing; dimensional and semantic modeling for analytics
  • Hands-on experience on Databricks or a comparable lakehouse platform (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, metric views) and strong SQL; familiarity with CDP and customer identity concepts
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce CRM data models, marketing and RevOps data lifecycles, and downstream activation use cases
  • Demonstrated expertise in data quality metrics, monitoring, and remediation (duplication, completeness, latency, routing)
  • Experience with data governance, cataloging, and lineage platforms such as Collibra, Unity Catalog, or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of lineage, auditability, consent, and privacy requirements across marketing data flows in a regulated environment
  • Clear, concise communicator capable of explaining architecture and governance decisions to non-technical stakeholders; a collaborative leader who is humble, curious, and eager to learn

Axos Employee Benefits May Include:

  • Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance

  • Paid Sick Leave, 3 weeks’ Vacation, and Holidays (about 11 a year)

  • HSA or FSA account and other voluntary benefits

  • 401(k) Retirement Saving Plan with Employer Match Program and 529 Savings Plan

  • Employee Mortgage Loan Program and free access to an Axos Bank Account with Self-Directed Trading
